FAQ

Why online counseling?

Online counseling is easily accessible, requires no time off work, no transportation, decreases the need for childcare, and it is done within the comfort of your home. Increased flexibility and efficiency

After my own struggles with finding mental health services with postpartum depression, I committed myself to revolutionize the mental health field by providing accessible cutting-edge counseling services.

Some may wonder if online counseling is as effective as in person counseling. Opening up and sharing our mental health struggles can be challenging in person. Online sessions are done at the comfort of your own home, and it is an easier way of developing a therapeutic relationship.

What can be expected from a typical session

The initial session is an intake session during which you will complete a comprehensive assessment in order to determine the areas of focus, and develop an individual, customized action plan (treatment plan).

An individual counseling session (typically 50 minutes) is the ongoing, standard counseling session, conducted through Telehealth. Please be advised that individual sessions can be longer (90 minutes), if previously discussed and agreed upon with the clinician.

The session will be conducted through video chat (laptop, tablet or smartphone)

Why many therapists do not accept insurance:

You are worth investing in!  Mental Health is an important part of self care, so that you can be the best version of yourself, for yourself first and for your loved ones as well.

Finding a therapist through your insurance,  who takes new clients can be as time consuming as seeing a specialist (1-2 months).

Using insurance requires that you first meet your deductible for the year, which means that you may have to pay the entire session out of pocket, until the deductible is met. Insurance companies usually require a diagnosis, and dictate the amount of sessions covered.

CASH PAY mental health sessions are considered medical expenses that are tax deductible.

Can I be reimbursed by my insurance?

Depending on your health insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Please be advised that submitting  your mental health expenses to your insurance company will be your responsibility, once payment is completed.
